The
Cobb & Co.
Hotel.
Cobb and Co. Coaches
once carried Royal Mail,
also many passengers with not much travail,
throughout this great country, its spread far and wide,
where many were the places for bushrangers to hide.
They served this great country for many a long year
during gold rushes and times that were drear,
well over seventy, the records do tell
climbing the ranges to where people dwell.
Linking townships across our vast plains
before the steam engine and the coming of trains.
Now in these new times an ‘old spectre’ still shines
a ‘ghostly’ old pub has all the outlines.
In the main street of
St George,
is the
Cobb & Co Pub
where I stopped for a bed and of course,
some good grub.
So gracious and friendly are the customers and staff,
this is
Queensland
outback, where the bush telegraph
tells of daily events in the
West,
of all the bush pubs
Cobb & Co
is the
best.
